Taking facebook with a pinch of salt…

Ok, so I know I use Facebook to connect with you all and it is fun but recently I’m rethinking a few things about it…
I am finding I’m making more time to step back from it on a personnel level. I like to think I take facebook with a pinch of salt but aspects of it are hard to hide from. Being a sometimes overly sensitive and often private person does not always fit in with how facebook works. Is it time for a revolution? Answers on a postcard please!

Have you found it eats away at time? 2 minutes can turn into 2 hours. Don’t get me wrong, I have learned a lot from social media and in the last 2 years it has really helped me with my business. For this I am grateful. I also like the way I can connect with people near and far but more and more I feel sucked into it….liking this and liking that, not liking and causing offence. And yes this makes me anxious! Even writing this makes me anxious! I really feel we need to step away and see what is real….so much gets lost on social media. Facial expression, intonation, feelings all muddled up and lost in a fluster of words. I recently read The Circle by David Eggers. A good read and a little social commentary on how we are shaping up with all things social media wise. I recommend all to read it, it’s like a “1984” for now. I was very close to deleting all my accounts…still might #revolution!
I would love to know I’m not the only one feeling like this. Below is a piece I came across… Let me know what you think or not (and that’s ok too!!!). Peace out everyone.
